Frosting
Postings here have been a bit lax of late I'm afraid, not due to a shortage of ideas, but time. This is one from the archives, just before Christmas. A little reminder of what winter should be like!
As is often the case, I'd have liked a little more depth of field on this. I just can't resist opening up the aperture when I'm taking the photo, but regret it later.
This was shot at ISO 800 by accident, so most of the post processing was recovering from that - a Gaussian blur overlay to remove much of the noise in blue of the sky, and a bit of curves fun to brighten a little. It was also cropped and I toyed with flipping it horizontally, as I think it's nice to have things leading from left to right, but I just looked wrong that way (perhaps because I was used to seeing it this way).

I Love You
Here's one for all the lovers out there.
Don't recall exactly what I did here, but think it was mainly an automatic levels adjustment.

Happy
Isabel is on the whole a very happy baby; she always has a laugh for her mum and dad, which is very rewarding. I don't always understand what it is she's laughing at (stairs, for example, are apparently hilarious!) but it's nice to have captured this essential part of her.
Post processing was, if I remember rightly, convert to black and white using mostly the red channel, with a little green and a tiny bit of blue, then curves adjustment to give a bit more contrast, Gaussian blur overlay layer, and a tiny amount of unsharp mask to finish.
