Lowestoft #2
Another shot of Lowestoft beach, taken a month or two ago. Processed to bring out the colours and contrast of the sand.

Lowestoft
There was something of a storm off the east coast a couple of weeks ago with plenty of sand and pebbles thrown up the beach and onto the front. The following day I took a walk while visiting some family, and just had time to take one photo. This was it.
Apologies for the lack of detail in the sand - jpeg just isn't very good at a texture like that, but I can assure you the original is much better!

Editing was mostly a black and white conversion using the channel mixer, and probably a curves contrast adjustment to boot.

Tree
This won't be to everyone's taste; I'm not even sure it's to mine. But hey, it's different, and that's what makes life interesting.
I don't really see this as a photograph as such, although it is. More as the kind of illustration that might form the picture on the cover of a book. It has a certain atmosphere about it, and I think it is that that I find most pleasing.
As to how the effect was achieved: despite being extremely soft and apparently blurred, it's not due to focus or camera shake issues. It's the shadow of a tree through a window on a wall, and as the shadow was ill-defined, it was naturally blurred. All I've done is add the colour cast and play with the contrast a little.
It rather gives me the impression of somehow lying in a pond looking up through the water at an overhanging tree,
Comments most welcome.
