Lavender Bowl
Bit of an experiment this one, trying out the strobist time in a bottle assignment technique of blending multiple exposures with the lighting in different locations to give a soft and wrap-around feel to the light. This was a combination of 14 different shots with a single Canon 540 EZ flash at 1/128th power hand held at different positions and heights around the bowl.
For comparison with a straight single flash here's one of the exposures.
It's a technique I'll be using again for still lifes; with a radio triggers for the flash, a remote shutter trigger for the camera, and a little script to merge the exposures it's quicker than it sounds.

Shocking Pink
The contrast between this and the previous posting couldn't be greater. We had Autumn in August, but summer in September.
